Hafez Abdel Jabbar, a Palestinian-American citizen residing in the village of al-Mazraa Asharqiya in the occupied West Bank, said the US is not protecting them as they face threats from Israeli settlers.

He explains that since 7 October, “Life has changed tremendously” in the West Bank and that they are not only being targeted by settlers but also by the Israeli forces. Despite holding passports, which should guarantee safety, Abdel Jabbar says he feels completely unsafe.

Abdel Jabbar’s 17-year-old son, Tawfic Abdel Jabber, was also killed by an Israeli settler on 19 January 2024.
