Inhabit Your Body in a New Way — Video 2 | Twisting, Lengthening & New Movement Patterns

YT: Leslie A. Field Embodied Movement

🌸 What This Practice Is About

In this session, we’re continuing the gentle process of letting your body lead while also offering more structure and scaffolding for new movement.

Many people find intuitive or improvisational movement challenging at first.
It can feel uncertain — Am I doing this right? or What should I move next?
That’s completely normal.

Having a little structure helps create safety and familiarity, so your body begins to recognize patterns and feel more confident exploring new ones.

⸻

✨ About This Practice

We’ll begin with familiar movements from Video 1 and then add:
• Gentle twisting through the hips and spine to release tension and create more spaciousness.
• Leg extensions to lengthen the backs of the legs and bring new awareness to how your body supports you.
• Micro-movements and undulations through the spine — including bridge lifts and slow, wave-like releases — to awaken fluidity, relieve tightness, and deepen presence.

This practice helps your body find new ways of moving, stretching, and expressing ease.

⸻

🌿 Why Close Your Eyes or Soften Your Gaze

When you soften your visual focus — by closing your eyes or gently gazing upward — your attention turns inward.

That inward focus allows you to be more present with sensations and emotions, rather than getting caught in the thinking mind.

Your mind might chime in with questions like, Am I doing this right? or Did I hear her correctly?
You can simply notice those thoughts and return to your body’s rhythm.

Let your body be the driver.

⸻

🌸 How Often to Practice

Try this gentle sequence two to three times per week.

The more you practice, the more familiar your body becomes with these movements.
You’ll start to notice how each stretch shifts over time — how certain positions bring more release or energy, how new sensations emerge.

⸻

✨ Why We Do This

This work offers gentle scaffolding — structure for movement patterns that your body might not naturally explore.

By inviting the body into new shapes, rhythms, and twists, we create openings for awareness, relief, and creativity.
Through mindful presence and breath, you’ll begin to feel more fluid, alive, and connected.

Over time, this becomes a form of moving meditation — a practice of curiosity and compassion in motion.
