Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Tuesday (September 30) that U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace plan is “not our document,” distancing Islamabad from directly owning Washington’s proposal. Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Dar clarified that the plan was issued by the U.S., while Pakistan and seven other Muslim-majority nations only endorsed a joint statement on ceasefire, humanitarian aid, and ending forced displacement.

Dar emphasized Pakistan’s support for the two-state solution and stressed that stopping the annexation of the West Bank remained non-negotiable. He said Pakistan’s leadership would decide later on whether to contribute troops to a proposed peace-keeping force in Gaza, alongside offers from countries like Indonesia.

The comments follow Trump’s meetings with Muslim leaders on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, where eight countries — including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, the UAE, Jordan, Turkiye, and Indonesia — discussed a framework for ending the war in Gaza. While Dar acknowledged that the Palestinian Authority welcomed the joint statement, he maintained that Pakistan’s commitment rests with the consensus of Muslim nations, not with Trump’s unilateral plan.
