Recorded on May 13, 1910, this is the scarce Take 2 of Kreisler's Liebesfreud played by the composer and George Falkenstein. Issued on Victor 74196, this catalogue number also held the later Take 4 with Kreisler and Carl Lamson at the piano from 1916. The Lamson had wider distribution and was more commonly reissued on LP and CD. I am told by none other than Ward Marston, 78rpm transfer engineer extraordinaire, that the Take 2 is quite scarce, so I offer it to my Youtube followers. Other scarce 1910 Kreisler discs will follow in coming days. Dubbed using a medium tone steel needle on my Rankin-restored EMG Model Xb "Oversize" gramophone on October 23, 2020.
