The pressure on her is great, however, and at times she is weak and fails. When she’s with the Phantom passion explodes – angry and romantic – in a love she can no longer deny. Erik fights to keep Christine with him, desperately hoping she can see the man behind the monster – and look beyond his deformity and failings to see - that he’s only human…as is she.
