BEST Hike in Maui (Hoapili Trail)

Описание к видео BEST Hike in Maui (Hoapili Trail)

THE BEST HIKE IN MAUI is only a 30 minute drive from Kihei.

This moderate hike travels along historic trails amid the harsh lava from one of the last eruptions on Maui in 1790.

THIS HIKE is great and unlike other hikes in Maui it does NOT take all day to do. A short drive from Kihei passing Wailea, Lava fields and beaches you reach the parking lot and the trail begins. Even if you don't want to do the hike, the beach itself and Lava fields are worth the drive.

This hike begins at La Pérouse Bay, named for the French explorer Jean François de Galaup, comte de Lapérouse, who was the first European to anchor near Maui in 1786.

The Hoapili Trail is in the Ahihi-Kinau Natural Area Reserve.

Established in 1973, ʻĀhihi-Kīnaʻu Natural Area Reserve includes a coastal lava field and surrounding waters on the southwest coast of the island of Maui, Hawaii. It consists of 1,238 acres on land and 807 acres of ocean along 3 miles of Maui's southwestern coastline.

Enjoy the hike or take a drive with the air conditioning on and enjoy the beauty and Lava fields.
