Detroit, Michigan was once known as the murder capital of the United States. It has a history as a Mafia city, going back to the early 20th century when Sicilian families began smuggling liquor from Canada during prohibition. Then later, they evolved into one of the strongest Mob organizations in the country. After the 1970's, when the automobile plants shut down, over half of the population left the city, and drugs and crime exploded. Crack cocaine trafficked by gangs during the 1980's caused the homicide rate to explode. But by the mid 2000's, Detroit became to come back. The downtown has been redeveloped and is much safer than it was even ten years ago. Still, many of the problems remain. Johnny takes a tour of Detroit city, accompanied by Al "Gunner" Lindbloom, a former associate of the Detroit mafia run by the infamous Jack Toco. He shows Johnny some of the wildest, most dangerous neighborhoods in the city, as well as the affluent Mafia-run neighborhoods like Grosse Point.
