You’ve never seen this TOP SECRET topwater (feat. Bacon's Tackle)

This just may have been my most epic visit to Bacon's Tackle in Shreveport, Louisiana! You know I wasn't going to drive cross-country without a stop at one of the greatest old school tackle stops in the country, and I came with a long to-do list.

First, I couldn't stop at Bacon's without scouring his selection of old school lures from the likes of Bill Lewis, Cotton Cordell, and Smithwick. I also aimed to pick up some of Bacon's Genuine Frogskin lures as well as a rare and mythical topwater he calls the Rolls Royce.

I also brought a pile of antique and rare fishing lures for Michael Bacon to try to revive, including an original Fred C. Young Big-O crankbait, several Jim Pheffer minnows courtesy of Jon and Lyndia at Small Water Charters, and enough spinnerbaits in need of Ol' Ben's tube skirts to make Jimmy Houston's head spin!
