Chrono Trigger - Nub's Longplay Episode 01 - Chekov's Pendant

In episode one of my Chrono Trigger complete playthrough, a young boy named Crono heads off to celebrate the festivities of the Millenial Fair, celebrating the year and the anniversary of the defeat of Magus's forces centuries earlier. While exploring the fairgrounds, Crono accidentally bumps into a young lady named Marle, who drops a pendant that she values greatly. We help her to her feet and retrieve the pendant for her. Marle asks to accompany Crono around the Fair, and they head off for fun times.

A merchant at the fair named Melchior recognizes the pendant and warns Marle to keep it safe. The duo head off to the main attraction, a new technological wonder created by Crono's best friend, Lucca. Crono volunteers to step onto the device and it safely transports him a few feet away. Impressed by the transporter, Marle volunteers next, but when the machine is activated, it interacts with her pendant and creates a portal, drawing her in and quickly closing.

With no idea what happened and where Marle has gone, Crono steps onto the pad where her pendant now rests and offers to go after her. Lucca agrees to repeat the process, but promises to find out how to control this portal and follow Crono as soon as she can. The portal opens, and Crono disappears into the unknown...
