আজ 'বিজয় দশমী'। রীতি রেওয়াজ মেনে মহাষষ্ঠী থেকে শুরু করে মহাসপ্তমী, মহাষ্টমী, মহানবমী পেরিয়ে দুর্গা পুজো পদার্পণ করল মহাদশমী তিথিতে। 'দশমী' মানেই ঘরের মেয়ে অর্থাৎ উমার এবার বিদায় বেলা। স্বভাবতই মন খারাপ সকলের। কারুরই মন চাইছে না মেয়েকে বিদায় দিতে। কিন্তু, নিয়মানুযায়ী ঊমাকে তো ফিরতেই হবে। তাই হাজারো মন খারাপের মাঝেও হাসিমুখে সিঁদুর খেলা ও মিষ্টিমুখের মাধ্যমে মহা আড়ম্বরে ঘরের মেয়েকে তার শ্বশুরবাড়ি পাঠাতে ব্যস্ত সকলে।
এই বিজয়া দশমীর প্রকৃত তাৎপর্য হয়তো অনেকেরই অজানা। জেনে নেওয়া যাক এর প্রকৃত তাৎপর্য।
দুর্গাপূজার অন্ত চিহ্নিত হয় 'বিজয়া দশমী'-র মাধ্যমে। তাই 'দশমী' কথাটির মধ্যেই রয়েছে আবেগ, কষ্ট। ষষ্ঠীতে দেবী দুর্গা স্বামীগৃহ ছেড়ে সপরিবারে এসেছিলেন পিতৃগৃহে। আজ দশমী তিথিতে দেবী আবার পাড়ি দেবেন কৈলাসে। আজকের দিনেই মা দুর্গার প্রতিমা বিসর্জন দেওয়া হয় এবং শুরু হয় আবার এক বছরের অপেক্ষার পালা।
বিজয়া দশমীর তাৎপর্য
'দশমী' কথাটির সাধারণ অর্থ খুবই সহজ। পৌরাণিক কাহিনী অনুসারে, আশ্বিন মাসের শুক্লপক্ষের দশমী তিথিতে বাপের বাড়ি ছেড়ে পাড়ি দেন স্বামীগৃহ কৈলাসের দিকে। সেই কারণেই এই তিথিকে 'বিজয়া দশমী' বলা হয়। কিন্তু দশমিকে বিজয়া বলা হয় কেন? তার কারণ খুঁজতে গেলে অনেক পৌরাণিক ব্যাখ্যা উঠে আসবে সামনে।
পুরাণে মহিষাসুর বধ কাহিনীতে লেখা রয়েছে,মহিষাসুরের সঙ্গে ৯ দিন ৯ রাত্রি যুদ্ধ করার পর দশম দিনে তার বিরুদ্ধে জয়লাভ করেন দুর্গা। নারী শক্তির এই জয়লাভকেই 'বিজয়া' বলে ব্যাখ্যা করা হয়েছে। আবার, শ্রী চণ্ডীর কাহিনী অনুসারে, দেবী আবির্ভূত হন আশ্বিন মাসের কৃষ্ণাচতুর্দশী-তে। মহিষাসুর বধ করেন শুক্লা দশমীতে। তাই দশমীতে এই বিজয়কেই চিহ্নিত করে বলা হয় 'বিজয়া দশমী'।
আজকের এই বিজয়া দশমীর দিনে উত্তর ও মধ্য ভারতে উদযাপিত হয় দশেরা। যদিও তার তাৎপর্য কিছুটা আলাদা। সংস্কৃত শব্দ 'দশহর' থেকে 'দশেরা' শব্দটির উৎপত্তি। যা সূচিত করে দশানন রাবণের মৃত্যু-কে। বাল্মিকী রচিত রামায়ণে কথিত, আশ্বিন মাসের শুক্লপক্ষের দশমী তিথিতেই রাবণ বধ করেছিলেন রাম। রাবণ বধের পর ৩০ তম দিনে অযোধ্যা প্রত্যাবর্তন করেন সস্ত্রীক রামচন্দ্র। তাই এই দিনটিকে দশেরা বা দশহরা হিসেবে পালন করা হয় উত্তর ও মধ্য ভারতের কিছু জায়গায়। কিন্তু, মাইসোর দশেরা পালন করা হয় দেবী দুর্গার মহিষাসুরকে বধ করার স্মরণে।
হাজারো পৌরাণিক ব্যাখ্যা। হাজারো পৌরাণিক মতামত। এসব কিছুকেই উপেক্ষা করে বাঙালি কিন্তু মেতে ওঠে শুধুমাত্র দুর্গাপুজো নিয়ে। আজ এই পুজোর অবসান। প্রত্যেকের চোখে জল। আবারো এক বছরের অপেক্ষা। দেবী দুর্গার বিদায় দিনে বিষাদের সুরেই 'বিজয় দশমী' পালন করেন মর্ত্যবাসীরা। মেতে ওঠেন সিঁদুর খেলায়, চলে একে অপরকে আলিঙ্গন ও মিষ্টিমুখ। বিশ্বসংসারে ছড়িয়ে পড়ে ঐক্য ও সম্প্রীতির বার্তা। 'আসছে বছর আবার হবে' এই আশা নিয়েই মহামায়াকে বিদায় জানান শতকোটি মর্ত্যবাসী।

The end of Durga Puja is marked by 'Vijaya Dasami'. So the word 'Dashmi' contains emotion, suffering. On the sixth day, Goddess Durga left her husband's house and came with her family to her father's house. Today on Dasami Tithi, the goddess will again pass to Kailasa. On this day, the idol of Maa Durga is sacrificed and another year of waiting begins.
Significance of Vijaya Dashami
The general meaning of the word 'Dashmi' is very simple. According to mythology, on the 10th tithi of the Shuklapaksha month of Ashwin, Swamigriha left his father's house and moved to Kailasa. That is why this tithi is called 'Vijaya Dasami'. But Dashami is called Vijaya why? If you look for the reason, many mythological explanations will come up.
In Puranas, it is written in the story of the killing of Mahishasura, after fighting with Mahishasura for 9 days and 9 nights, Durga won against him on the tenth day. This victory of female power is explained as 'Victory'. Again, according to Sri Chandi's story, the goddess appeared on Krishna Chaturdashi in the month of Ashwin. Mahishasura was killed by Shukla on Dasami. So this victory is marked on Dashami and is called 'Vijay Dashami'.
Dussehra is celebrated in North and Central India on this Vijaya Dashami day today. However, its meaning is slightly different. The word 'Dashera' is derived from the Sanskrit word 'Dashar'. Which indicates the death of Dashanan Ravana. According to Valmiki's Ramayana, Ravana was killed by Rama on the tenth tithi of Shuklapaksha in the month of Ashwin. Wife Ramachandra returned to Ayodhya on the 30th day after killing Ravana. Hence this day is celebrated as Dussehra or Dussehra in some parts of North and Central India. But, Dussehra of Mysore is celebrated to commemorate the slaying of Mahishasura by Goddess Durga.
