In this video we tell you our top 5 best neighborhoods in Midlothian Virginia and we give you all our top reasons why Midlothian VA is one of the best places to live in Richmond VA! In a previous video I mentioned that the one downside to living in Short Pump is that it is more expensive to live there and that Midlothian is a great alternative to short pump. This is absolutely true. Midlothian is a wonderful suburb of Richmond just south of the James River and Henrico county’s west end. Midlothian has grown into a miniature version of short pump and is a close 2nd for shopping, dining, and entertainment. You might want to choose Midlothian to live in if your work is located south of the river and you want to avoid commuting over 288 to the west end, or maybe you want a little more for your money.


Midlothian is actually quite large and comprised of 3 different zip codes, 23114, 23113, and 23112. Be sure to go to greatschools.org and check out the school system ratings within those zip codes, you will absolutely be pleased. Since Midlothian is so large, in this video we will focus on the more northern side of Midlothian because we feel that is the best area since you are the closest to all the amenities.


We examine all there is to do within a 4 mile radius and while not as densely packed as short pump there is still plenty to love about this location. Within that bubble is
West Chester Commons has everything you could need from shopping, to dining, to entertainment. It has a Target, Petco, & office max. It also has everything from fast dining with chic fil a, five guys, to sit down casual dining at one of our favorite Mexican spots Plaza Azteca. If you want a little more upscale or a parents night out type of place then definitely check out Sedona taphouse.


But Midlothian isn’t just west chester commons, there is so much more. Also within that 4 mile radius there is the following. Tons of grocery stores including a newer Wegmans, a Kroger, publix, aldi, the fresh market, food lion, Walmart, and the target already mentioned in West Chester Commons. There is a brand new Trader Joe's JUST BARELY outside that 4 mile radius.


You also have access to some really great gyms in midlothian including a 24 hour Golds Gym in Westchester commons, a super nice YMCA, ACAC which has an awesome outdoor water park, and a huge American Family Fitness right off Midlothian Turnpike. There are 2 movie theaters within that bubble, a bowling alley, and Chesterfield Town Center which is the mall on the Southside. So there is absolutely plenty to love about living in Midlothian. Another spot you have to check out is Wood & Iron Game Day. They have awesome drink specials and really good smoked & grilled wings, so it’s a great place to watch a game and hang out with friends.

Our top 5 neighborhood picks are Abbey Village, Walton Park, Rountrey, Hallsley, and Tarrington.
