Chordplay - The Chords Of Whitesnake (1978-1984)

Описание к видео Chordplay - The Chords Of Whitesnake (1978-1984)

Here's the next episode of Chordplay with The Chords Of Whitesnake (1978-1984). As I mentioned in the video, this is the second look at Whitesnake and their chord-based ideas, and while the first episode focused more on the mighty John Sykes, I've had requests to feature some of their early blues-based music, back when Mickey Moody and Bernie Marsden were guitarists in the band.

The examples in this episode focus on the early blues-rock sound Whitesnake had in the late 1970s and early 1980s, which radically changed compared to the glossy hard rock direction the group took somewhere around the 'Slide It In' album in 1984 and was fully realized on the historic 1987 self-titled album with John Sykes.

There's an assortment of great early moments from the group in this lesson, including songs such as 'Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City,' 'Come On,' 'Free Flight,' 'Young Blood,' and many more! This lesson also includes some of the open tunings the band used in the early days on songs such as 'Lovehunter' and 'Slow An' Easy.'

Needless to say, there's something beneficial about going back and studying the early days of a group that's been on the scene as long as Coverdale & Co., so for those that are already aware of this hard-hitting blues-rock music from Whitesnake's early days you already know what's coming, but for those new to the group or its early origins, there's plenty here to check out and devour - so dive right in!
