This is Jesus' teaching on marriage and divorce found in Mark 10:1-12 and Matthew 19:1-12. On one occasion, the Pharisees asked Jesus whether it was lawful for a man to divorce his wife. In essence, Jesus answered, "No": "Have you not read... that from the beginning the Creator made them male and female" and said, "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be united." to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'? So they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, no one can separate." And unthinkable things, such as the lack of love, the daily "activity" of husband and wife, are also considered sins that few people pay attention to.
