The Shimanami Sea Route is a road that connects the islands between Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture and Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture with bridges.
The total length of the road is approximately 70km.
Hiroshima prefecture extends from Onomichi to Mukaishima, Innoshima, and Ikuchijima.
Omishima, Hakatajima, and Oshima are Ehime Prefecture.
The Shimanami Sea Route offers a spectacular view of the calm Seto Inland Sea and countless islands, allowing you to enjoy the beauty of the archipelago.
Hakata Island is located about 50 km from Onomichi and about 20 km from Imabari city.
Hakatajima is a small island with a population of about 5,000 people and a circumference of about 15km.
There are four shipyards on Hakata Island, and it is known as a shipbuilding island. It is also the birthplace of Hakata salt.
