EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH CHIEF IMAM OF ILORIN ALH.BASHEER BY Dauda Awwal

The Chief Imam of Ilorin, Imam Mohammed Soliu Bashir Ibn Salih (OON) is one of the most respected Imams in Ilorin. He became chief imam of Ilorin 1983 till date. In this exclusive interview, he speaks with Dauda Awwal (UK) on his life and how his ancestors appointed as the chief imam of Ilorin for the past 60 years till moment.
In this interview, he advised Nigerians: ’Make the most important day of your life a memorable one. Keep going, everything you need will come to you at the perfect time if you have faith in God. When you wish good for other good things come to you. Late Olusola Saraki was most compassionate and generous, his death was a great loss’’. He expressed his shock over the demise of Baba Oloye who died November 2012.
Recently, he was sponsored for a medical treatment. He thanked the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, for saving his life. The Chief Imam received the Senate President on a courtesy visit to his home at Princess Road, Agaka Area, Ilorin.
“If you revive a sick person, you have served God and humanity,” Imam Bashir said.
The President of the Senate expressed his joy for the quick recovery of the Imam. The Imam asked the Almighty God to give Bukola Saraki greater potential to serve a greater number of Nigerians. He also thanked God for Dr.Saraki’s life.
Imam Mohammed Bashir Soliu appreciated the Senate President and also offered prayers for Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State and Nigeria.
