The members of the Rashtriya Janata Dal moved a motion against the Bihar Special Armed Police Bill 2021, that was passed last week. The bill seeks to empower the police to arrest without any warrant. Due to the agitation from the members, the proceedings of the assembly was adjourned five times on Tuesday. Though the speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha had adjourned the house, he ended up stranded inside his chamber with the protesting members surrounding him and shouting slogans. Police personnel had to evict MLAs refusing to let the speaker out. Members of the opposition Grand Alliance, comprising the RJD, the Congress and the Left, protested against the Bihar Special Armed Police Bill, 2021, demanding its repeal. Women MLAs too were carried out of the assembly building by women security personnel.
