It's late 1944 & the Allies are advancing on all fronts, American forces have pierced the "Siegfried Line" & are pushing eastward onto German soil, approaching the city of Aachen.. A company of Sherman "Easy Eights" lead the charge, accompanied by U.S. infantry.. About 20miles west of Aachen the U.S. forces are ambushed by several Tiger & Panzer V tanks, along with SS Panzergrenadier elements of Panzer Lehr which were returning to Germany to re-group after suffering massive losses at the Falaise Pocket... Fighter-Bomber sorties have already been flown to soften another defensive position west of the current troops.. All local allied tactical airpower is either returning to base to refit or on other sorties at the moment.. This leaves the Panzer troops on the ground a huge advantage over the enemies of the Reich.. As the American forces spurt forward, they are stopped by a wall of German steel in the form of Tiger tanks... One after another, American Sherman tanks despite a hard charge & spirited maneuvers, are shattered by the superior German 88 guns & overrun by fanatical SS troops...
