Over 138,000 Syrian Kurd refugees have crossed into Turkey from the north of Syria in the last three days. This is one of the largest refugee influxes into Turkey since the start of the Syrian civil war over three years ago.

Turkey opened a 30 kilometre stretch of its frontier on Friday after Syrian Kurdish civilians fled their homes following clashes between ISIS militants and Kurdish forces.

UNHCR is working with Turkish authorities to provide relief items including mattresses, blankets, jerry cans, plastic sheets and more will be delivered soon.
