Lamoille Canyon, located in Nevada's stunning Ruby Mountains, offers a 12 mile long, paved road that climbs to nearly 9,000 feet.

Each year Elko Velo puts on a mass start hill climb up this stunning valley.

The climb starts off at the foot of the mountains and gently slopes toward the mouth of the canyon. Once in the glacially carved canyon the road slopes upward along the Lamoille Creek rising to nearly 9,000 feet at the roads end.

Times near an hour for the 12 miles are really good. This years winner was just over 1:05.
