Amazing small creek brook TROUT with a 2wt rod! - McFly Angler Episode 51

Brookies brookies every where! Man, that 2nd creek I hit up was amazing wasnt it? If I went there first, I have a feeling I could have gone further, and gotten some more fish. I hear there are some larger brown trout up further in that creek, and the brooks seemed to get larger the further up I went also. These were beautiful little fish, and ones that pulled quite well on that small 2wt rod. So as promised here is a list of the gear I used to catch these beautiful fish.

I really like this setup. The double taper line still loads at short distances with this slow action fly rod. However being a double taper, it allows for further roll casts, and a very light and delicate presentation when need be. The reel is fully machined, and while its not the best reel in the world, and doesn't have the best drag, the drag is pretty smooth and is there for when you need it, but this is rare when fishing small creeks. And both the rod and reel are such great prices! Combined you are looking at under $200. They also make a 3wt version of this rod as well as some higher weights incase you are going to go fish some larger fish.
