After a strenuous 9.5 mile hike the illusion of a calm shoreline awaits hikers getting ready to launch on a Lower Canyon trip. As you travel downriver, the current quickly changes pace, barely grazing the magnitude of turbulent rapids that lay ahead. Not for the faint of heart, the Lower Canyon is known for its whitewater. Within a few short miles churning water awaits as you drop into four of the largest rapids: Horn Creek, Granite, Hermit, and Crystal. Continue downriver, and after safely navigating through the heart of the Canyon and its many rapids, observe as the rock walls expand to showcase unbelievable views that can only be captured in Grand Canyon. Listen closely as your guides educate your trip on the formation of the Grand Canyon and the many rock layers that create the beautiful landscapes and slot canyons hiding below the Canyons rim. Each day will consist of multiple stops for side canyon hiking and an opportunity to see some of the most notable attractions the lower canyon has to offer. With so many places to explore, your itinerary will be determined on a day-to-day basis.
