I surrender.

I have always prided myself in being that kinda person who can 'handle whatever life throws my way.' It wasn't until recently that I understood how erroneous that mentality was. This reminds me of a meme I recently saw online, which went something like this: 'Never say that could never be me because life will show you just how that could be you!' That, essentially, is what happened. I encountered a few blows that nothing could have really equipped me for. This made me very aware of how futile I am. I had to surrender. I threw in the towel, for I realized just how defeated I was. Since, it has been sort of wonderful. There's been a sense of peace that only God can provide. The kind that surpasses human understanding. And isn't that the beauty of it all? Moral of the story? Pride gets you NOWHERE.

John 14:27: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Philippians 4: 5-7: Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
