Eurovision This Week: 12 February 2019

Welcome to Eurovision This Week! This is your update of the 12th of February. Sergey Lazarev is back for Russia! After he won the televote and ended up in third place with his song You Are The Only One in 2016 Lazarev will return to the contest in Tel Aviv. His song will be released at a later date.

Four national finals took place this weekend. On Friday, the United Kingdom decided that Michael Rice will represent the country with the song Bigger Than Us

On Saturday morning, Australia held their first ever national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. Zero Gravity will be the 5th Australian entry, performed by Kate Miller-Heidke!

For the second year on a row, Montenegro chose their participant through Montevizija. D-moll will represent Montenegro in Tel Aviv with the song Heaven.

The final of Sanremo took place on Saturday night. Mahmood won the prestigious competition with the song Soldi.
