Wiring a TECO L510 VFD to Run My 82 Year Old Milling Machine

Описание к видео Wiring a TECO L510 VFD to Run My 82 Year Old Milling Machine

In this video I go through the wiring connections used to power a Variable Frequency Drive through an AC contactor with a circuit breaker and an inline fuse. This will be used to run my 82 year old Bridgeport milling machine.

For the cables I unfortunately don't have any good links. The 4 conductor shielded cable that I used was purchased a long time ago at Home Depot but they don't seem to carry it locally anymore. The writing on it is - SOUTHWIRE E163891 18AWG 4C SHLD CL3R. Home Depot sells it by the 500' roll as "Security Wire" but it's pretty expensive. The 7 conductor wire that I used to hook the low voltage controls to the VFD was purchased by the foot locally at Home Depot sold as "Sprinkler Wire". It might not be the best option but it's what I was able to find on short notice. My guess would be to search around for "Security Wire" and I believe that CL3R will be the code to search by for the 3 conductor. Not sure about 7 or 9 conductor shielded cable.

The power cable from the wall outlet to the contactor is 14 gauge 3 conductor 300V wire and was purchased locally by the foot at Home Depot. They used to carry 14 gauge 4 conductor wire by the foot but I haven't been able to find it so I had my electrician friend get me some from a supply house. Your availability may vary by location.
