In this Lockdown Lecture to Cork Astronomy Club, given via Zoom on 8 February 2021, Professor Emma Bunce talks about the two-spacecraft Voyager mission to explore the outer planets of the Solar System, and their extended mission to return the first data from interplanetary space. Voyager 2 was especially influential and inspired her to pursue a career in planetary science.

Emma Bunce is Professor of Planetary Plasma Physics at the University of Leicester. Her research is on the magnetospheres of Saturn and Jupiter. She is principal investigator (PI) of the MIXS instrument on the BepiColombo mission to Mercury, was deputy lead on the Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (JUICE) proposal, and a co-investigator on the Cassini–Huygens mission to Saturn. She is the current President of the Royal Astronomical Society.
