The heartbeat on Ultrasound should be positive at 6 weeks.
if there is no heartbeat at 6 weeks then 14 days can wait for fetal cardiac activity.
in 70% cases there are chromosomal abnormalities which can be seen in the first trimester of the pregnancy
patients who have previous history of recurrent abortions can also land into abortion this time also
in many cases there is no gestational sac seen on Ultrasound
there can be such cases that gestational sac is present and fetal Pole is also present but fetal cardiac activity is absent
and in some cases gestational sac is present fetal Pole is also present and fetal cardiac activity is positive but after sometime the fetal cardiac activity is not seen
these all cases are considered as abnormal pregnancy or missed abortions and miscarriages.
