MOULOOD-UN-NABI
BOSMONT MASJID ISLAMIC CENTRE
15.10.2022

An event commemorating
and celebrating the birth of our Beloved Nabi Muhammad SAW.
A beautiful rendition of the Raatibul Ghadaad lead by Ghaliefa Arashad Lawrence & the Ghabieboellah Ghadaad Jamaat set the tone for the day.
"All praise is due to Allah SWT" .
Thikr is to the heart like water is to fish.
The sincere Salawaat on our Beloved Prophet Muhammad pbuh lead by Ghaliefa Salie Lawrence, Sheigh Jamiel Abrahams, our Imaam Ansaar Johaardien, Ghaliefa Gamiem Boomgaard, Galiefa Fafa Ernest, Galiefa Faraad Shahabudeen, and others was electrifying. Listening to the voices of the men sending praises & salutations to the greatest man who walked the earth was heart rendering!
Ghaliefa Boeta Bunnie Sallie & Ghaliefa Boeta Heli honoured this event with their presence.
The "Rampies Sny" & Oeker was well attended. The ladies dressed for the occasion with some  wearing the traditional Medowra. I even spotted a lady wearing a beautiful Modering (garment worn by Ghujaaj when returning from Ghaj or when taking a bride from the stage and accompanying her to her new home).
It was a revival of the Medowra at this Moulood-Un-Nabi  Mashallah. This Tradition needs to be encouraged. It is unique to the South African Malays. It is worn by young brides on their wedding day (some say it signifies purity), Ghujaaj after performing their Ghaj and some use it even at the Doopmaals (naming of a new born baby).
For the very first time in the history of Moulood in Bosmont, the Tari Saman (Dance of a thousand hands) was performed by the Persaudaraan Tari Saman group. It is believed that in previous times the Tari Saman was performed at the birth celebrations of Prophet Muhammad pbuh and high profile events. It is a traditional dance from Aceh, Indonesia. Performers do syncronised hand movements and singing songs of praise to Allah SWT. A form of Thikr.
As usual guests of the Bosmont Masjid Moulood-Un-Nabi were spoilt & treated to food for the day which was in abundance.
To end a wonderful day guests were given a gift by Hadji Ebrahim Sallie, his family & friends. This has become a tradition for this Moulood-Un-Nabi.
