Part Two of Our Exclusive Interview with Jane from @thecornishknitter

Welcome back to the second part of our conversation with Jane from @thecornishknitter! In this episode, we dive deeper into the world of knitting inspiration, pattern choices, and how we spark creativity!

Knitting Inspiration & Pattern Selection
As knitting enthusiasts, we are always looking for designs that will spark inspiration. We showcase some of the patterns that offer something fresh and exciting while remaining accessible to knitters of all levels. Designs that feel timeless yet contemporary, and of course, comfortable to knit.

Some of the standout patterns discussed in this episode include:

Hinterlands Shawl by Helen Stewart
A delicate shawl that’s perfect for showcasing texture and colour. Linda talks about how this design is a favourite at shows because of its versatile styling options and the beautiful drape of the finished piece.

Growing Ivy Scarf by Ayano Tanaka
A beautiful and intricate scarf pattern that celebrates delicate textures. Linda highlights how the simplicity of the design with the use of just two colours creates a statement piece that’s simply fabulous.

Barberry Sweater by Zanete Knits
A modern, flattering sweater with an eye-catching design - both in a sweater and cardigan pattern. A stunning colourwork design using just two colours that is both stylish and not too complex to knit.

The Maltings beanie: Wool Decanted
Designed by Linda. Perfect for beginners this beanie uses just two colours!
This design features a simple but elegant construction, perfect for showcasing quality yarns.

Lyra Fair Isle Slipover by Di Gilpin
A gorgeous Fair Isle pattern that combines traditional techniques with a modern cut. Lisa loves how it balances complexity with wearability, making it a favourite among knitters who enjoy colourwork but want something that works for everyday wear.

Slip Stitch Party by Isabell Kraemer
A fun and modern take on slip stitch patterns, this one is all about texture. Linda describes it as a perfect example of how even simple stitch patterns can create a stunning, eye-catching garment.

Porthallow Cowl by Comfort Road Knits
A cozy and stylish cowl with a subtle yet beautiful texture and colours.

Inspiring Customers at Shows
One of the highlights of our work is our presence at knitting shows, where we get to engage with customers and share our passion for knitting. We talk about how knitting shows are not just about selling yarn or patterns, but about creating an experience where customers feel inspired and encouraged to try new things.
