Many, many years ago, there once was a little dude who sold all his gaming consoles, games, and gaming accessories he had at the time, gathered all the money he had earned from mowing lawns, and used all his birthday gift cards in order to purchase a brand new, state-of-the-art gaming system called a "Nintendo 64". He was the king of the mountain for a period of time because he was the only kid on the block who had one. The game that came with that console, you ask? Why, Super Mario 64, of course. This game, to me, was an epic upgrade to everything I had played before. Mario could finally swim. His world moved from 2 dimensions to 3, also. The first epic fight against Bowser was one for the ages, too. Back when I first got this game, I hadn't even picked up a guitar yet, and it would be another 6 years before I would too. Just goes to show you, you never know what will happen in life. I can honestly say that it NEVER crossed my mind that I'd one day be making my own versions of video game songs I grew up playing.

If anyone was wondering, my buddy Los laid down the guitar lead at the end of this track. The dude is good on the guitfiddle.

Credits time: I own exactly 0% of the rights to this song. I did, however, make my own version of it, which I own the rights to. The score to the game was composed by The Great Koji Kondo. The copyrights to his version are held by Nintendo, of course and the game was released in 1996 on the Nintendo 64. I am simply paying homage to this musical genius in my own weird way. This "DERIVATIVE WORK" (look it up) is also covered under the current copyright laws and as long as I don't sell my work for money, I won't get a cease and desist letter from the copyright owners, as I've heard them doing as of late. Otherwise I gotta go pay for some licenses down at the ol' Harry Fox agency.
