It is very safe to say that corruption has anchored its roots in almost every system in Africa starting from the political sphere, to economic, financial and social domain. In Africa corruption seems to have over shadowed, integrity, accountability, fairness and morality. According to transparency corruption perception index, CPI, the continuous failure of most countries to significantly control corruption is contributing to a crisis of democracy around the world. The list of the top 10 most corrupt countries in Africa have been released by Transparency International using a global corruption barometer. The list grades countries based on the level of corruption each citizen perceives of their country. In a beat to determine the level of corrupt practices that have engulfed each country in Africa, Transparency international surveyed people in more than 54 African countries and the results reflect what the members of each country can relate to. Corruption is in every country on the planet but results from researchers shows corruption strives very well in countries battling with political, social and economic instability.

The aim of this video is not to ridicule any country but to show how corruption has feasted on the democracy of many countries in Africa and for these countries to find a solution to this bad practice called corruption. So with that said here are the Top 10 Most corrupt countries in Africa.
10. Mozambique. CPI 23
In Mozambique, Corruption is particularly prominent in public procurement and tax and customs administrations. Companies looking to operate in Mozambique face a very high risk of corruption in most sectors. Forms of bribery in Mozambique range from petty bribes to deeply entrench client and patronage systems and donor countries have shown dissatisfaction over the country’s anti-corruption efforts Even though there is a standing legal framework to curb corruption, there are still many loopholes as it doesn’t cover all forms of corruption. For example embezzlement is not covered. Most heart breaking is the fact that the judiciary is generally corrupt accepting gifts and bribes and not enforcing the law. The corruption perception Index of Mozambique currently stands at 23.
9. Zimbabwe. CPI 22
According to a survey by Transparency International, 68% of the respondents acknowledged to have bribed their way into getting favors in one way or the other in the last year. Corruption is said to be on the rise in Zimbabwe due to the hardship the citizens go through. Hence they have to find a way to survive. Findings indicate that this southern African country is among the most corrupt in Africa as its citizens regard the public sector as the most corrupt sector in the country. The survey by Transparency international also indicates that the citizens cited the police force as the most corrupt followed by political parties, parliament/legislature, public official, civil service and the judiciary. In the same report, they said that Zimbabwe looses $5million to corruption every year. Corruption has become endemic within its political, private and civil sectors. Police corruption is a very high risk for businesses to operate in the country. The various forms of corruption affecting the country affect health, education, and every other sector in the country hence earning them the 9th spot in this year’s ranking.
