Video Note: During example number four, Action Selection, I talk about the board game Scythe. This is a perfect example of action selection in a board game. However, my example as applied to a learning environment could have more clarity on how it aligns with the action selection game mechanic. Below is a more detailed explanation.

If you create a handout or supplemental materials that students can choose to complete. You can assign the answers on the handout or your supplemental materials to do various actions on a game board (the game board can simply be a handout that students fill in when they unlock skills-- think of an RPG skill tree*). For example, you may have three starter questions, and each question is aligned with an action the student can take once they complete the question. This action then allows them to unlock future actions.
