Workers under orders from the Belarus Government on Monday (8/6) welded shut the gates to the US ambassador's residence in order to prevent him from entering. The ambassador reacted angrily to an official request from the government that foreign ambassadors vacate their official residences to allow "repairs" on their telephone systems.
