One person remains unaccounted for after an explosion and fire at an industrial estate in south Wales.

A major incident was declared in Treforest, a village south-east of Pontypridd, at about 7pm on Wednesday. Flames and smoke were seen emerging from the Treforest Industrial Estate in Rhondda Cynon Taf, which includes a number of businesses including a car dealership, a fabrications firm, a pet shop and a gym.

South Wales police said there had been no reports of any injuries but one person remained unaccounted for.
