Machine Knit Newborn Bonnet Tutorial

I am totally obsessed with this pattern! It is the fastest project I make and also uses the least amount of yarn. And let's be honest, it's for sure the cutest! You can market newborn beanies to product photographers and moms, of course :)

Quick Written Pattern:
Using flat panel knitting, cast on 40 stitches.
Knit approx 10 rows of contrasting waste yarn.
Add in your primary color leaving a lot of extra yarn tail.
Reset your counter.
Knit 28 total rows (14 on the counter).
Cast off using the cinched cast of method.

Crochet finish the waste yarn edge.
Cinche the back of the bonnet.
Sew the rounded bottom of the bonnet closed.
Continue sewing back up to the cinched part.
Weave in ends and cut excess.
Cut the remaining yarn tail hanging from the crocheted finish edge to the desired tie length.
Sew on additional tie to the opposite side of the bonnet matching the length of the first.
Tie knots at the bottom of the ties to prevent unraveling.
