KULGAM 19/Jan/2026:- In view of the upcoming Republic Day celebrations, Kulgam Police have significantly intensified security operations across the district, with heightened vigilance along the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44).
As part of the enhanced security plan, special checkpoints and intensified patrolling have been deployed at sensitive locations including Qazigund, Qaimoh, and Khudwani along the NH-44 corridor. The measures aim to ensure the safety of commuters and prevent any untoward incidents.
The security drive is being carried out under the directions of SSP Kulgam, Shri Inayat Ali Choudhary (IPS). Police personnel are conducting thorough vehicle checks, verification drives, and round-the-clock monitoring to maintain a secure environment.
Officials stated that these proactive measures are part of a comprehensive strategy to ensure peaceful and smooth Republic Day celebrations across the district.
