Lionel Mighty sound of steam board repair

Описание к видео Lionel Mighty sound of steam board repair

This evening I repaired a sound of steam board sent to me from a friend. It's an early board probably from a 1971 Silver Star set as it has the copper colored capacitors. The three large capacitors were bad as well as the speaker so I replaced them with 470uf for the large one and 100uf for the two smaller ones. I included some still shots of the board so you can see the proper polarity. A rule of thumb is the negative lead always faces out away from the board. I like using these earlier boards as the capacitors are the easiest to replace and they're louder. I look for Pennsylvania tenders with red wire to the loco and green wire to the rear truck pickup. These boards make great replacements for Marx Sound O Power tenders and sound good in the Marx tender too.
