MAKNA (National Cancer Council) is celebrating World Cancer Day (WCD) which takes place on 4 February every year. This is aimed to raise awareness on cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. World Cancer Day is led by the Union for International Cancer Control, a global consortium of more than 470 cancer-fighting organisations in over 120 countries.
For 2014, in conjunction with WCD, MAKNA is running a campaign, "#ShareYourStory #ShareYourThoughts" to encourage cancer patients, survivors, caregivers and anyone willing to share their experiences and thoughts about cancer for the benefit of cancer groups and community.
What we hope with these stories, when captured on VIDEOS will help inspire those who are battling with cancer, and strengthen their resolve to continue coping with it. We also want those who are helping patients to tell us their side of the story.
If you like to share your experiences, thoughts or what you are doing to support this year's World Cancer Day, you are most welcome to do so.
Together, let's make this campaign a success!
