Checkmate Control is still around for a few more days before it turns into a different game mode, but the Checkmate modifier is something that many people have asked for over quite a long period of time: let's slow things down in PvP. And despite that slowdown, it still feels like I'm playing Destiny. The soul of the game has not been ripped away, it doesn't feel like I'm playing Call of Duty, I just actually get to shoot my guns now.
