LGD UHD TV 패널 1위 탈환…한국산 점유율 60%
LG Display reclaimed its spot as the top seller of Ultra HD panels in the fourth quarter of last year, thanks of the popularity of high-end TVs.
According to data compiled by industry tracker I-H-S, LG Display shipped nearly four million units of UHD TV panels in the October to December period, …up over ten percent from the previous quarter, and accounting for 35 percent of the global market.
Korea's Samsung Display came in second, with shipments of nearly two-point-eight million units,… or a 25 percent share.
Together, the two Korean panel makers made up 60 percent of the market.
The combined shipments of UHD panels stood at eleven-and-a-quarter million units in the cited period,… down two-point-four percent on-quarter.
Industry watchers say demand for UHD TVs is likely to rise, with manufacturers rolling out more affordable models.
