Strelitzia Nicolai care tips.
Bird of Paradise Care

Captions: "Here is everything you need to know to grow Strelitzia nicolai the bird of Paradise. These striking plants like a warm and bright environment and do well in a North Side facing room or on a covered balcony. This variety here is a Giant White Bird of Paradise and it can grow up to 33 ft outside, but, indoors it'll grow to roughly around 6t tall. these plants like a lot of water so don't let them dry out completely between watering. I water mine weekly in summer and slightly less in the cooler months and I also try to shower her once a month as you can see she's fairly large and this one weighs about 25 kilos. these big beautiful leaves do require some maintenance because they do attract dust. you'll need to wipe the leaves down pretty frequently to keep dust away or you can pop it in the shower as well as well as high water these plants like fairly high humidity as well and if you're having trouble with your plants leaves curling or they aren't unfurling properly you may need to raise your humidity if you do have a stuck Leaf again you can go in with a warm cloth and just gently loosen it I try to fertilise mine monthly with a liquid NPK and also Spritz it pretty frequently both with neem oil for pests and for shine and just misting it now misting is not just for humidity misting is a great chance to get up and personal with your plant to make sure that there is no pest hiding and also to ensure the leaves are healthy these leaves are designed to split so don't worry if you have any few spaces this this is so that wind and rain can pass through them when they're outside without taking the whole Leaf out left outside this plant will produce a white flower but not if it's kept inside because they are actually pollinated by birds as for propagation this can be done via division you might be able to see that there is three clumps here which I could divide when I want to repo your plant if you start to see roots coming out the bottom into a light free draining soil and that's it for the BOP"
