What is a Sidebar in WordPress?
A sidebar is a vertical column, usually on the right or left side of your webpage. It allows you to display extra content using widgets. You can add different sidebars for blog posts, pages, or custom templates—depending on your WordPress theme.

How to Add & Edit Sidebar in WordPress

Step 1: Go to WordPress Dashboard
Login to your WordPress admin panel.
Step 2: Navigate to Widgets
Go to Appearance → Widgets. You’ll see all available widget areas including the Sidebar.
Step 3: Add Widgets to Sidebar
Drag and drop widgets (like Search, Recent Posts, Categories, Custom HTML) into the Sidebar area.
Step 4: Customize Widgets
Click on each widget to edit the title, settings, or content. Click Save after editing.
Step 5: Assign Sidebar in Page Layout
If your theme supports it, go to Pages → Edit a Page, and on the right sidebar under Template or Layout, select a layout that includes a sidebar (e.g., "Right Sidebar").

Tips for Sidebar Customization:
Use sidebars on blog pages or posts to display related content or ads. Keep it simple and relevant to your page content. Some themes or builders like Elementor allow you to create custom sidebars using widgets and blocks.
