⭐ Who Was Gulshan Kumar?

Gulshan Kumar was a visionary Indian music producer, film producer, and founder of T-Series, one of India’s biggest music labels and YouTube channels today. Known as the “Cassette King of India”, he revolutionized the Indian music industry in the 1980s and 90s by making devotional music and film songs affordable and widely accessible.

Coming from a humble background, he started by helping his father sell fruit juice in Delhi. Later, he entered the music distribution business with a small cassette shop and eventually built Super Cassettes Industries, the foundation of what we now know as T-Series.

He produced popular Bollywood movies like Aashiqui (1990), Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin (1991), and Bewafa Sanam (1995), and was also known for his deep spiritual devotion, especially towards Vaishno Devi.


❌ How Was Gulshan Kumar Killed?

On August 12, 1997, Gulshan Kumar was shot dead in broad daylight outside a temple in Andheri, Mumbai, where he would regularly go to pray.
• He was reportedly shot over 15 times by two assailants.
• The murder was allegedly linked to the Mumbai underworld, specifically involving gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s aide Abu Salem.
• It was claimed that Gulshan Kumar had refused to pay extortion money, which led to the contract killing.
• The case created a nationwide uproar and highlighted the dangerous nexus between Bollywood and the underworld during that time.
