The device that can save our planet | Arnav Gattani | TEDxYouth@PonderosaHeights

Arnav Gattani is a high schooler in San Jose. He is interested and passionate in the fields of science and technology and how they can solve the problems our society is currently facing. He designed and created a water meter along with a website that helps its user use less water conserving our limited freshwater supply. This meter easily fits onto a handheld shower and detects the amount of water being used while the shower is switched on. He showed his device to many professionals in the field of behavioral sciences at the Synopsis Science and Technology Championship where he won first place in the biological category and later also claimed an honorable mention in the California State Fair. He later displayed the meter and website he developed to thousands of people and viewers at the Maker Faire where people were extremely interested and showed support for his idea. He hopes that everyone in the world will be able to share his passion and dream for a healthy environment where everyone has access to fresh water and clean sanitation.
