M706 V-100 Commando

The M706 V100 Commando is an amphibious armored car built by the United States that entered service in 1964 and is still operated around the world today. It has seen continual service since it was introduced during the Vietnam war. Current operators include: Bolivia, Egypt, Mexico, Thailand, Venezuela, Lebanon and many more.

The V100 is the first vehicle of this type that was designed and built by the American firm Cadillac Gage = now TEXTRON Systems. The Commando vehicle spawned an entire series of vehicles including the most recent variant being the TAPV acquired by the Canadian Forces in 2016.

The vehicle is versatile an can be armed with various weapon systems. The original armament consisted of twin M37 Browning 30 Cal Machine guns. The Commando weighs 9.8 tonnes and can reach a top speed of 100 km/h. The vehicle has a maximum operational range of 643 Km.

Usually operated by a crew of three or more including a Commander, Driver and Gunner. The crew are protected by 6.35mm of Armor.
