The FBI is investigating the deaths of three adults on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation as homicides. The agency was alerted to the situation on Sept. 14, 2025.

Michael J. Littlebull is in custody in connection with a triple murder that occurred in Poplar.

All victims were adults, authorities said. The case is under investigation by the Fort Peck Tribal Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office, and the Roosevelt County Sheriff's Office.
