Sunny Choi (USA): Breaking Barriers Through Beats

This summer the Olympics will be debuting breakdancing as an event. The competitors will be judged on their creativity, athleticism, and how they showcase their skills.

We are so excited to announce the release of the second podcast of Season 4 “Pathways to Paris” which highlights Sunny Choi's journey, the first-ever qualifier for this new event. 🥇✨

Sonny tells us that the moment that she was upside down on her hands she became hooked on the acrobatic elements of breaking and knew she wanted to pursue the sport.

We asked Sunny what tips she would give to people who are going through ups and downs and this is what she told us…

“It's really about being along for the ride, you can't control it. That's what I tried to do for so long…Logical sunny was like, you need to have a job because you need to buy a house and it's expensive and you need to have kids. You know, I had to do all these things and check all these boxers because that's how I'm going to be the perfect sunny. But just like breaking, there is no perfect Sunny. It's all about being happy. And, so yeah, that's kind of the whole story behind me telling myself, just trust your gut. My cheeks are hurting from smiling so much!”
