India has successfully tested the K-4 submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) from its nuclear-powered submarine INS Arighat in the Bay of Bengal near Visakhapatnam on 23 December 2025, under the Strategic Forces Command. With a range of about 3,500 km and nuclear warhead capability, the solid-fuel K-4 significantly strengthens India’s sea-based nuclear deterrence and second-strike capability, reinforcing the maritime leg of the nuclear triad. Beyond its technical success, the test carries major geopolitical significance, consolidating India’s strategic position and deterrence posture in the Indo-Pacific while underscoring its role as a responsible nuclear power.

ভারত ২৩ ডিসেম্বর ২০২৫ তারিখে বিশাখাপত্তনম উপকূলের কাছে বঙ্গোপসাগরে পরমাণু শক্তিচালিত সাবমেরিন আইএনএস অরিঘাত থেকে ৩,৫০০ কিমি পাল্লার কে–৪ SLBM-এর সফল পরীক্ষা চালিয়েছে। স্ট্র্যাটেজিক ফোর্সেস কমান্ডের তত্ত্বাবধানে পরিচালিত এই উৎক্ষেপণ ভারতের সমুদ্রভিত্তিক পরমাণু প্রতিরোধ ও সেকেন্ড-স্ট্রাইক সক্ষমতাকে আরও শক্তিশালী করে নিউক্লিয়ার ট্রায়াডের সমুদ্র অংশকে কার্যকরভাবে সুদৃঢ় করেছে। প্রযুক্তিগত সাফল্যের পাশাপাশি এই পরীক্ষা ইন্দো-প্যাসিফিক অঞ্চলে ভারতের কৌশলগত অবস্থান ও দায়িত্বশীল পারমাণবিক শক্তি হিসেবে ভূমিকা স্পষ্টভাবে তুলে ধরেছে।
