How Powerful Is Taiwan Military?

Today we will talk about How powerful is Taiwan military? Taiwan officially the Republic of China is a country in East Asia at the junction of the East and South China Seas in the northwestern Pacific Ocean. With China to the northwest, Japan to the northeast, and the Philippines to the south. Taiwan's total nominal GDP is around US$841billion. The country is protected by the Republic of China Armed Forces. 
 
Taiwan military consists of six branches: Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Military Police, and Armed Forces Reserve. The Defence budget is around US$16 billion. The Taiwan military has approximately 1.7 million personnel which is 7.1% of the total population. 170,000 active personnel and is capable of mobilizing over 1.5 million reservists in the event of full-scale war. The Taiwan military also has 11,500 paramilitary. The United States is the major weapons supplier. According to the 2022 global firepower index, Taiwan is ranked 21 out of 142 countries in the annual GFP review. China ranked 3, the Philippines ranked 51 and Japan ranked 5. According to the World Directory of Modern Military Aircraft, the Taiwan Air Force is ranked 32 and Taiwan Army aviation is ranked 96 out of the 100 air services from 74 countries. 

Taiwan military has 4 special force units: 101st Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion (Taiwan Army), Airborne-Special Service Company (Taiwan Army), Republic of China Military Police Special Services Company (Taiwan Military Police), and Amphibious Reconnaissance and Patrol Unit (Taiwan Marine Corps).
