We’ve been experimenting with the ComMarker Omni X UV laser, and this project might be our favorite so far a 3D subsurface engraving inside a crystal block. Using an STL model of an angel statue, the Omni X engraved layer by layer until the entire figure appeared inside the glass.

👉 What makes this process even cooler is how accessible it is. We had no prior experience with 3D crystal engravings before this this is only our third block! With tons of models available online, plus the option to move into photo engravings, the creative possibilities are endless.

📦 The blocks themselves are surprisingly affordable ComMarker sells a pack of 6 for about $62, which works out to just over $10 each. This full design took around 1 hour and 15 minutes to engrave, and because it’s subsurface engraving, there’s no need for exhaust or ventilation.
