Still can’t believe I’m writing this. I can’t even believe that is true 🫶🏽, The world lost not only Alvin, but NIVLA — a visionary, a friend, and one of the most genuine souls I’ve ever had the honor to know. 💔

Nivla wasn’t just an artist — he was a movement. His words, his energy, his drive — all of it inspired a generation of artists, especially within the South Asian hip-hop community. As I broke barriers getting blends pushed out thru AV8 Records and landing radio shows on platforms such as DesiHits, I did my best to include amazing South Asian like Nivla and help them shine. He proved that our voices belonged in this space, that our stories had power, and that music could transcend every border.

I had the privilege of working with Nivla on mixtape remixes and the official “Ghost Remix” for Sumeet — moments I’ll always cherish. I also had the honor of interviewing him on my “Everywhere Radio” show, where his passion and purpose came through in every word. We really pushed to get him heard, to show the world what we already knew — that he was special. I remember recording interviews and rough versions of ghost in his car. Memories and quality time I will cherish.

Your talent, your vision, your heart — they left a mark that will never fade. Thank you for sharing your gift with us, for representing our culture with pride, and for reminding us all what it means to chase a dream with everything you’ve got.
